Located in the core area of Qujiang New District, one of China’s first national cultural industry demonstration areas, Qujiang Polar Ocean Park is invested and operated by Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Co., Ltd. Neighboring Tang Paradise, a large royal garden displaying the scenes of Tang Dynasty, the park covers an area of 4.66 hectares, composing of four parts, Ocean Hall, Polar Hall, Commercial Street, and Haiyun Square. It's not only an ocean park combining high technology and ocean culture, but also an AAAA national tourist attraction and a national science popularization education base.
As the first large ocean theme park in West China, the Phase I Ocean Hall has been open to tourists since Feb 5th, 2005, realizing the dream of “blue ocean on loess plateau”. With the creative style of a striking ship, the ocean hall symbolizes local people’s infinite yearning for oceans and their obsession for life. The hall specializes in the feeding of freshwater, marine organisms and animals, mermaids, underwater diving, and other ocean culture performances and experiences.
As the first brand new polar hall in Northwest China, the Phase II Polar Hall has been open to tourists since Feb 5th, 2013. The hall specializes in demonstrating polar exhibiting animals. The bionic architecture of polar ocean animals is used for the appearance design. With a concise style, the hall features blue and while, fully embodying the “ocean & polar” concepts. The total floor area is about 55,200 m2. Besides the “Happy Theater”, a place accommodating 3,000 visitors, it has multiple facilities, including the “360° Tunnel”, “Penguin Bay”, “Polar Bear Watchtower”, “Sea Lion Opera House”, “Polar Wolf Cave”, “Sea Dog Iceberg”, and “Sea Mammal Playground”. Multiple polar animals, such as polar bears, penguins, dolphins, seals, sea lions, and sea dogs, can be fully demonstrated by the underwater and overwater parts. Besides, the park offers ocean culture performances such as the performances of dolphins, sea lions and feeding of animals as well.
曲江海洋极地公园位于首批国家级文化产业示范区——曲江新区核心区,由西安曲江文化旅游股份有限公司投资运营和管理。公园紧邻展示盛唐风貌的大型皇家园林大唐芙蓉园,公园总占地面积70亩,主要由海洋馆、极地馆、商业街及海韵广场四部分构成。这是一家将高科技与海洋文化相结合的海洋公园,同时也是国家AAAA级旅游景区和全国科普教育基地。
一期海洋馆于2005年2月5日建成开放,是我国西部第一家大型海洋主题公园,实现了“黄土地、蓝海洋”的梦想。海洋馆外观创意定格为一艘个性张扬的巨轮,象征着黄土地上的人们对海洋的无尽向往和对生命的执着。集中展示淡水、海水生物及动物喂食、美人鱼及潜水等海洋文化表演及体验项目。
二期极地馆于2013年2月5日盛大开业,是西北地区首家全新兴建的极地馆。极地馆是以极地观赏动物展示为核心,外观以极地海洋动物仿生建筑为设计理念,造型简洁明快,色彩以蓝、白为主调,充分体现“海洋·极地”的概念。总建筑面积约5.52万平方米。除了可容纳3000人的大型极地动物"欢乐剧场"外,馆内还设有"全景360度隧道"、"企鹅海湾"、"北极熊眺望台"、"海狮歌剧院"、"北极狼风雪山洞"、"海狗冰山"、"海兽嬉戏地"等多个新型场馆。通过水下、水上两个部分,可以多角度全方位立体展示北极熊、企鹅、海豚、海豹、海狮、海狗等多种极地动物。以及海豚海狮表演、动物喂食表演等海洋文化主题演出。
